Ingredients:
- chow chow(chayote squash)-2
- Mustard-1/2 tsp
- Gram dal or channa dal-2 tsp
- turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder-1tsp
- Curry leaves-2 twigs
- Dried Red chillies-2
- Saunf-1 tsp
- Garlic chopped-10 pods
- Onion-1 medium sized,chopped.
- Oil-2 tsp
Preparation:
- Dry roast a part of channa dal and grind it coarsely.keep it aside.
- Add oil in a hot pan.
- When oil is hot, splutter some mustard seeds.Add Saunf.
- Add the Channa dal, let it roast for about 15 seconds.Add the garlic.
- Add the chillies and curry leaves.
- Add the Onion and fry till they translucent.
- Add the Chow chow that are cut into cubes.
- Add some salt,turmeric powder,chilli powder.
- keep sprinkling some water until the chow gets cooked(not too soft).
- now add the coarsely ground channa dal and mix it up.
- you can also add some shredded coconut for added taste, which is optional.
Serve with Rice, or roll it in chappati.Enjoy!
